“A professional teaching geared to the amateur with tremendous tutor support. Taking part in the Course has equipped me to be a more knowledgeable advocate for patients.”
Having been involved in health and social care since 1995 but not taking part in medicines development I felt this was a gap in my knowledge. I enrolled for the course with the intention of gaining knowledge on the process of developing medicines. My involvement is the course has certainly led to my gaining a good knowledge of the process as well as having the opportunity to meet with other students and sharing experiences. As the only student from Wales where health matters are devolved from the UK Government, I feel it is important that I am able to spread the knowledge learned by providing workshops/ seminars to my fellow advocates.
What I´ve gained is the knowledge and confidence to put my name forward for research projects. I have been chosen as a member of the Research Development Group in a study looking at monitoring medication. The study is being run under the PRIME project based on Swansea University in Wales.
