Work to date
In August 2015, EUPATI created the National Team in Slovakia with the support of representatives of Association for patients’ rights protection in Slovakia (AOPP), the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava (SMU), ISPOR Slovakia , Bayer and Chiesi.
In 2016, we will launch the EUPATI Slovakian National Platform. We hope that all national partners with an interest in patient involvement will join the National Platform and together grow the patient involvement conversation in Slovakia.
We would like to see patient, academic and industry representatives join with government officials, regulatory bodies, health technology assessment agencies, associations of doctors and nurses, medical journalists and many more to better include patients across the medicines R&D process.
To ensure patients are equipped to take up their role, the Platform will seek to spread the word about the EUPATI Patient Advocate Toolbox and Online Library, as well as support Slovakian patients to adapt this material for their own training and learning purposes. The Platform will also engage with the Slovakian participants of the EUPATI Patient Expert Training Course to identify opportunities for sharing course material at the national level and for putting into practice the knowledge of medicines R&D gained during the course.
Meet the EUPATI National Team and Platform in Slovakia
Each National Platform is led by an Executive Committee – or a National Team. The Platform shares information among its membership and discusses important patient involvement issues and opportunities. The Team provides ongoing management and administrative support to the Platform.

Under the project grant agreement, there were plans to establish EUPATI National Platforms in 12 countries. Denmark was not one of those countries, but a local group of supporters has helped organically grow a national network. It is for this reason that text on this page only appears in English.
